June 2012

I have recently completed 3 Demonstrations one for the McClelland Guild of Artists on the 2nd of June. A large crowd turned out to watch a Demo of Icebergs in Watercolour on watercolour Canvas. All having a lovely afternoon. Many thanks to the Guild for inviting me.

The Pastel Society of Victoria Australia was my 2nd Demo held on the 4th June at Malvern. I painted a Watercolour of Cosmos on a Watercolour canvas.

It was a shocking night weather wise, pouring rain and gale force winds, but still the faithful members turned up to watch me. We had a lovely night indoors in the warm, and I thank them all.

The 3rd Demo was held at Peninsula Art Society on the Monday the 18th June, in the afternoon.
A huge crowd turned out to watch another demo of Seduction Roses on Watercolour Canvas, and introducing Daniel Smith Watercolours.

Everybody got very involved as there were free samples of dot cards of Daniel Smith paint as well as cards, small paintings and larger paintings on Watercolour Canvas on display and sale.

A lovely afternoon was had by all. Many thanks to all at Peninsula where the committee work very hard, and run a very professional Art Society. I'm looking forward to the upcoming classes starting in July.

A wonderful weekend was had by all that attended my Acrylic Workshop held at Nelsons Bay Art and Craft Centre in May.

I'm sure that all who attempted the acrylic medium learnt something new to take away with them. I certainly hope so anyway. Thank you for having me.

Celebrated their 20th Year in May. There was a wonderfully diverse mix of Art Tutors including myself, covering all mediums and subject matter, to tempt the crowds that arrive each year.
This 3 Day event is very popular within the Sydney region and further afield with people coming from far and wide.
Set in the valley of Kurragong in the Blue Mountains, artists as well as emerging artists and hobbyists come together to further their aspirations of being an artist or just to have an artistic weekend. They share their stories with each other and catch up with friends. This is a great painting weekend away filled with fun and laughter and like minded people.

May 2012 Julie is releasing a new range of prints very soon.

The Winner was David Taylor - Whitby
Highly Commended Julie Goldspink - Morning Mist 5 day Creek.
MC Antoinette Blyth introduced Professor Graeme Clark who once again judged the Graeme Clark Foundation Award " Dare to be Different " . Professor Clark enthusiastically told us of his work in developing the bionic ear and how millions of people on the planet have re-gained their hearing. He explained how the idea of Dare to be Different was dear to his heart and it was with great pleasure : To give this year's Award to Julie Goldspink for her painting "MORNING MIST 5 DAY CREEK"
With this award and a Highly Commended plus the People's Choice Award it certainly was Julie's night.
This was a lovely night, a black tie event with
He was the gem of the evening who in a wide- ranging commentary associated morphological phenomena to sustainable ecological practices in the environment as part of an initiative that was, he said, our joint responsibility and had to become a part of our cultural lives that we valued and shared just as we did art and music. Artists, he said, played an important role in recording the changing landscapes for posterity.
I received two beautifully framed Certificates, for both my Awards which I will cherish, and hopefully work hard this year to take out the first prize next year.
